Through the years, Ask Without Shame’s work has been recognised by several organisations and institutions. We are thankful for their faith and belief in our services by giving us such an honour. It encourages us and instils a sense of belief that we are on the right path whilst reminding us of the great responsibility we carry toward the youth of our society.

Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2017

Ruth was given a Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2017 for her work to raise awareness of the importance of sexual and reproductive health. She founded Ask Without Shame, which provides a free and anonymous service in which medical experts answer sex education questions via apps, text messages and calls. read more here

The African Woman Award winner, Zimbabwe

3rd December 2016: High level recognition for Ask Without Shame. Ruth won the African Woman Award 2016 in Zimbabwe in the category “Young Change Maker” for her commitment in fighting the causes of HIV and providing emergency sex education to African youth. Ruth was the only Ugandan representative in the awards and the youngest winner.  See more information  here

AppsAfrica Award winner in the category of Social Impact 2016 in South Africa

Ask Without Shame was the only Ugandan representative in the Africa-wide appsafrica Innovation Awards in Cape Town, South Africa and only one of two nominees being nominated in two categories: “Women in Tech” and “Social Impact”. Ask Without Shame won the Social Impact Award because of its emergency sex education mobile platform having helped over 25,000 users when they faced challenges. Read more here
